Term 2, Week 10

A end of Term Report... by Anais, Lily and Marizelle

We had an extra enviro lesson to learn about Love Food Hate Waste with Lesley, which is about not wasting food when it could of and should have been eaten or given to people who clearly don't have enough food in NZ. This is the link to 'Love Food Hate Waste'

With Lesley we have started to learn about reuse and remaking stuffed animals to give to charity or different places instead of letting them go into the rubbish and then landfill.

We have also learnt about how to make healthy spinach cheddar muffins which turned out great. The muffins were super yum mmm... but heathy for all kids/adults to eat.

The ingredients are:
1 1/2 cups of all - purpose flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt  (we used garlic salt instead)
6 tablespoons of butter melted
1 egg
1 cup of whole milk
 1 loaf of frozen spinach
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
 Put dry ingredients first
the milk and wet ingredients after.

We then had Toni visiting us...
We also learnt about drains and how its not good for rubbish to block the drains. The drains are important to our community and school because... that keeps our school from getting flooded. We started to come up with some slogans to write on our drain posters like 'Only rain goes down the drain' and 'If you litter fish won't flitter'.
