Keep NZ Green & Silver Stream

What a great morning we had as this week's Enviro group headed off to Silver Stream to met up with Dan and his band of merry men. Mrs Lonsdale, Meg and our wonderful parent helpers took Ignite and Launch kids in cars... 2.5km is a little bit far to walk! They had a very productive morning mulching.

The Explore and Discover kids began the "Keep NZ Beautiful" campaign, with the our school's fantastic 'Rubbish advisor', Lesley Ottey, organising us with rubbish bags, gloves and great advice.
She took our 7 BAGS OF RUBBISH, collected along a small section of Heywards Road, which weighed in at 30kg! This would have cost $9.90 to dump so thanks to Waimakariri Council who is picking up the tab. KNZB week runs from the 14th to the 20th of September.

Once the gloves were ditched we got stuck into planting trees...
